Fortune Cookie Project


Fortune Cookie Project:


You will be given two fortunes to visually represent.


Begin with 6 thumbnail sketches, 3 for each.


Include actual fortune, make sure the font you choose goes with the idea behind the fortune.


Hand in two final designs created in Photoshop.

Me, Myself & I Project Steps

Me Myself & I Project Steps:

1. Choose photo for background image (the figure should be the farthest back in space)
2. Cut out figure with shadows using the Freehand lasso tool
3. click and drag to main background photo with move tool
4. line up
5. erase with soft/transparent brush
6. cut out with selection tools as needed
7. merge layers (layer-merge visible)‡ check with me first!
8. image‡ adjustments
9. save as jpeg in final folder in artshare

Selection Tools


Selection tools:
Lasso, magnetic lasso, magic wand, quick selection tool, marque tools.
Keyboard commands:
Command D - Deselect (gets rid of marching ants)
Command+shift+I - Inverse (inverses selection)
Vocab:
Marching Ants - show a complete area of selection
Tolerance - the lower the tolerance, the less amount of color it will select. The higher the tolerance, the more colors it will select.
